Description
The Department of Surgery at the University of Florida, College of Medicine is seeking applicants for a faculty position in the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy to meet our expanding clinical practice. Rank and tenure status will be based on education and experience. However, the major focus of this recruitment are individuals starting their academic career. This new physician will join a group of nine vascular surgeons with a strong reputation for excellence in patient care and an established track-record of NIH and industry funded research.
The Division provides all clinical care for UF Health Shands Hospital and the Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, immediately adjacent to the Shands Hospital. Both institutions provide care for a large geographic referral area and are recognized as the leading tertiary care institutions in their region. The volume and complexity of the cases at both institutions are very good and the Division has mature, established practices in complex aortic diseases, lower extremity occlusive disease, complex hemodialysis access and the full spectrum of venous diseases.
The Division has a long-standing commitment to both Resident and Fellow education and it is anticipated that the new surgeon will be involved in this effort. In addition, applicants will be provided dedicated time to pursue their academic interests. The Division of Vascular Surgery has been very successful in several areas of research spanning basic, translational and clinical arenas. Faculty within the Division pride themselves on the importance of mentoring and maintaining the infrastructure for high-quality research. Recent junior faculty recruits have been highly successful in obtaining national, peer-reviewed funding.
