Our organization is seeking a Vascular Surgeon to become part of our dedicated team at the Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC. Our healthcare teams are highly skilled and focused on meeting the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

• Perform open and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) surgical repairs.
• Conduct dialysis access procedures.
• Engage in diagnostic and interventional angiography, including mesenteric and peripheral vascular work.
• Execute lower extremity bypass surgeries.
• Carry out open and endovascular carotid surgeries.
• Supervise and teach surgical residents.
• Provide consultations in outpatient clinic settings and on inpatient wards.
• Oversee initial evaluations, comprehensive workups, history and physical examinations, and admissions for vascular surgery patients as necessary.
• Participate in various committees.

Work Schedule: Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, though this may adjust based on the service or medical center's needs. On-call duties may be required.

• Recruitment Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Available for qualified candidates.
• EDRP Authorized: This role qualifies for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers student loan repayment assistance. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria and submit their EDRP application within four months of starting. Approval and award amounts (up to $200,000) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after a thorough review.
• Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $300K to $400K, along with an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
• Paid Time Off: Receive 50–55 days of annual paid time off, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and a potential 5-day paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).
• Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401K with contributions of up to 5% from the VA.

Contract Buyout Program: This position may qualify for the Physician Contract Buyout Program, which allows the VHA to buy out service contracts (including locum agreements, loan repayments, and sign-on bonus contracts) in exchange for employment at specific rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum obligated service period of four years.
